Ben Boulton

Training and Development Coordinator

From graduating in 2012 with a BSc. (Honours) Applied Criminology and Sociology, I set out to make a difference to the lives of children and young people. My career started in 2013 within Primary Education as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant where I soon developed into becoming a Senior Learning and Behaviour Mentor and Assistant Safeguarding Coordinator by 2015. I then moved away from Education and moved into Children’s Residential Care between 2015 and 2019 starting as a Residential Care Worker and moving up to becoming a Deputy Manager. In this time, I worked with complex needs both from a learning difficulty and disability perspective along with emotional and behavioural difficulties, where one of my core roles was to support homes moving from Inadequate/ Requires Improvement to Good/Outstanding. In 2019 I started as a Training Officer within Children’s Residential Care taking the approach of knowledge and experiential learning to enrich the overall experience for staff. This then led to my current role in 2020 of becoming a Training and Development Coordinator for the Haven Care Group and now Bridge2Future, where I will let you make your own judgements of my training. I am a qualified trainer along with being a registered MAPA/ CPI Safety Interventions Instructor and FAA registered First Aid Instructor here to support you with good practice but also share experience. I look forward to hearing about your own backgrounds and experiences where you will be a part of something truly amazing in making a difference to the lives of young people.
